Tributary Insights has been chosen by ARC WA (Accelerating Research and Commercialization – Washington ) to provide Phase 1 proposal support to Washington State based firms applying to the National Science Foundation's Phase 1 SBIR program.

Founded in 2022, ARC WA is the first centralized support system in Washington State dedicated to helping small businesses pursue SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) funding. The program focuses on early-stage firms developing novel technologies, with a particular emphasis on women-owned, rural-based, and socially or economically disadvantaged businesses.

ARC WA’s mission includes:

  • Increasing Phase I SBIR/STTR awards in Washington State.

  • Providing training and technical assistance to entrepreneurs.

  • Sharing resources and events to drive SBIR/STTR outcomes statewide.

Our Role

Tributary Insights will provide both individual consulting along with group training  to pre-determined cohorts chosen and vetted by ARC WA.  By the end of the cohort sesssion the participants will have finished and submitted their Phase 1 proposal  to the NSF for consideration

 With this grant we:

  • Deliver expert-led training sessions and workshops tailored to SBIR/STTR applicants.

  • Offer personalized proposal review and strategic planning support.

  • Equip businesses with the tools and knowledge to submit high-quality applications.

Why SBIR Matters

SBIR/STTR funding provides non-dilutive capital, enabling businesses to retain ownership and intellectual property rights while accessing crucial resources for innovation and commercialization. These programs are a vital funding route for eco-innovators and environmental solution providers.

Tributary Insights uses the knowledge and tools gained through the ARC WA partnership to ensure that small businesses can navigate these opportunities with confidence.
